Fugees Working on First New Album in 27 Years
READY OR NOT
The Fugees are reportedly back. Page Six reports that Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras will team up again on a new album—their first since the group broke up in 1997. As breakout Fugees alum Lauryn Hill tours for the 25th anniversary of her monumental album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, the group recently announced they’d be joining her as she extends the show and adds new dates. The Fugees were going to reunite for a tour in 2021, which was canceled due to COVID, and then the rescheduled tour was pushed again last year as Hill recovered from vocal strain. Now, according to an insider, the group is going to make up for lost time with the new project. The news comes after Wyclef Jean told TMZ last year of a potential Fugees reunion: “Anything could happen.” The group has reunited several times for individual performances in the last few years.
